Chloe Chen-Kraus
Chloe is an ecologist and conservation biologist interested in the intersection of human and natural systems. Her research in Madagascar is based in the southwest where she studies critically endangered sifakas, how they are impacted by humans, and ways community-based conservation models can support human-lemur coexistence. Chloe also studies how sifakas deal with extreme heat, which is an increasing threat with climate change. While remaining committed to research and student mentorship in Madagascar, after her PhD, Chloe decided that she also wanted to become more involved with conservation closer to her home in Maine (USA). She currently works for The Nature Conservancy on projects to reconnect river systems that have been fragmented by dams and roadways.
